A: Okay, technially not a question, but I DO get this a whole lot. I'm glad you like you ukDarkhound's stuff, but I'm not ukDarkhound. I'm the Masterizer, a fan of ukDarkhound's stuff and the archiver of his material.
Q: Can I send you my stuff to read/post?
A: Yes, by all means! Send it to (and remove the FLUFFYBUNNY before sending) IcedFireFLUFFYBUNNY@fastmail.fm
Q: What's ukDarkhound's email address/contact information?
A: I really don't know and even if I did, I wouldn't give it out without his permission.
Q: Hi, I'm new to this WOT Humor thing. Where should I start?
A: The best post to start with is "Lan's Alternate Stag Party" by ukDarkhound. This is probably the defining WOT Humor post and many, many authors emulate ukDarkhound's style. "Long Live Insanity" by Sundara is also considered to be one of the classics (and despite the fact that I posted it recently, it's actually a very old post). After that... mmm... I think you're on your own.
Q: When will //insert series here// be completed?
A: Whenever the authors feel like it. I'm just a guy who archives material; I have no control whatsoever over the final product. If a writer decides to go on hiatus, then he does and there really isn't anything I can do about it.
Q: What's this WOTA, Pages of Prophecy, and Page of Legends that you seem to constantly be talking about?
A: All of the above were or are Wheel of Time communities, in which activity revolves around a message board and a chatroom. The WOTA is current extinct and the Pages of Prophecy is no longer a Wheel of Time site and all the members are now located at the Page of Legends. It's a really quaint little community, where we not only talk about WoT, but just about everything else also. I encourage everyone come join us.
Some things to note before visiting the Page of Legends:
Q: I was reading some the PoL Chat Transcripts. Are you people really talking about what I think you are? And is that ALL you guys talk about in chat?
A: Any claims that we're discussing recipes for making babies is all your minds. :) On a more serious note, to the second question, no... that's why I don't have a new transcript posted everyday.
Q: Why is //insert post title here// not in bold? I thought it was hilarious!
A: There really isn't an objective way to determine whether or not a post deserves the bold denotation. Most of the time, I do it by gauging the responses on the board. If it's an email submission, then the process is TOO subjective because my biases come into play (and I have a weird sense of humor). The bold denotation is more for those people who come to my page and have no idea where to start; it gives them a good starting point to spring from.
Q: When's your next update?
A: See main page.
Q: How come you haven't updated in such a long time?
A: In order for there to be updates, there must be posts. Ideally, there'd be a new piece of humor every week; in reality, the amount of posts fluctuates like the stock market. Activity is greatest when a new book is due and the months after release. It crawls to a standstill right in the middle between books. When WOT-related activity is at a standstill, then I realistically can't update.
Q: Can I use these posts for my webpage/classroom/commercial/movie/wedding/improv night/etc... ?
A: Well, technically, I can't give permission for stuff like that; the rights belong to whoever the author is. Now, how you can get into contact with the authors is a different story altogether, but again, I'm just the archiver of the posts. I'm not really in any position to be granting these sort of permissions.
NOW... given this, I think that the vast majority of the authors here wouldn't mind their material being used in a non-profit manner.
